Charity means voluntary giving by each person, not government stealing. You cannot be charitable with someone else's money. Charity is moral. Theft is sinful. Jesus didn't say "let's have the government do it," he said "you do it." From the bottom up, not the top down.
Calling something a "democracy" doesn't make it moral. When two wolves and a sheep hold a "democratic vote" on what's for dinner, the result is not moral. Morality comes from God and one's own heart, not a government dictator or "democratic" rulers. The sadistic killers Stalin and Hitler used to rant on and on about their "glorious democracies" - totalitarian dictatorships that systematically murdered over 50 million people who got in their way. Thank God America was founded as a republic, not a democracy.
We have a lot to cover. Keep Ghandi and Martin Luther King always in your mind. Remember Jesus said: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Gentleness and kindness will be the way that we will win against those "isms" - Progressivism, Marxism, Communism and Fascism.
